The re-election ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a major boost on Thursday, November 5, 2026, following a cross-party endorsement by governorship candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking on behalf of the opposition leaders, the former candidates declared that their decision to back President Tinubu transcended partisan affiliations and reflected their collective desire for the sustained development of Ekiti State.

They praised the administration’s federal infrastructure projects, such as the ongoing reconstruction of the Ado-Ikere-Akure road, as tangible proof of the President’s commitment to the region.

Host governor Biodun Oyebanji described the event as a demonstration of political unity, assuring national party leaders that Ekiti State aims to deliver at least 90 percent of its total votes to President Tinubu in the upcoming election.

APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda also addressed the crowd, defending the federal government’s economic policies and tax reforms while urging residents to support the party’s candidates across all legislative levels.

Representing the President at the rally, Vice President Kashim Shettima commended the political leaders for their solidarity, stating that the administration has kept faith with Nigerians by delivering key reforms in infrastructure, energy, and healthcare designed to ensure long-term economic stability.

The mega rally attracted prominent political figures, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and former Ekiti State governors, alongside key legislative representatives and APC campaign officials.
