The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for the Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Pst. Ishaya Auta, has promised to prioritise security, education and rural electrification if elected.
Auta made the promise on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Kachia while presenting his manifesto to constituents.
He argued that the constituency had long suffered from a lack of competent representation, which had deprived residents of the dividends of democracy and good governance.
“If elected, I promise to partner with the executive arms at both federal and state levels, traditional rulers, community leaders and relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting security, peace and stability for our people,” he said.
Elaborating on his manifesto, the candidate pledged to ensure total electrification across the constituency.
He also promised to give undivided attention to education by launching a “Go Back to School” campaign and championing massive infrastructural development.
Reacting to the declaration, a political stakeholder in the constituency, Mr Eugene Peter, described the candidate’s manifesto as timely, saying the area was in dire need of competent representation at the National Assembly.
Peter noted that constituents stood for justice, equity and fairness, assuring the candidate that residents would be inclined to vote based on competence, capacity and reliability rather than party lines.
Speaking on behalf of women in the area, Ms Mercy Yakubu, a resident of Kachia, assured the candidate of their massive support, citing his clear zeal and commitment to service.
Yakubu, however, appealed to Auta to remember widows, orphans and indigent people if he won the election.
Representing the youth, Mr Manji Apollos from Kurmin Musa Ward in Kachia Local Government Area, described Auta as a beacon of hope and expressed optimism about his victory at the polls.
