The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued six kidnap victims during a search and rescue operation, making do its promise to restore peace and security in the state.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, On April 16, 2025, at about 1:45 PM, a joint team comprising police operatives and Community Protection Guards (CPG) while on patrol along the Anka-Gummi Road discovered an ash-coloured Peugeot 206 abandoned by the roadside, raising suspicions of a kidnapping incident.
According to the statement, promptly, the security team launched a search which led to the safe recovery of six kidnapped victims who have all been reunited with their families.
It says the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, commended the operatives for their swift and effective response.
He reiterated the Command’s unwavering dedication alongside other security agencies to rescuing all abducted persons and ensuring the safety of lives and property throughout the state.
CP Maikaba also called on residents to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency for immediate intervention.
