Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Saturday called on the residents to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence and divine protection against rising insecurity threats in some parts of the state .
Yusuf made the appeal during a special prayer session organised by the state government and held at the Government House, Kano.
Yusuf described prayer as the strongest weapon against evil and those who plot harm against humanity.
He urged religious leaders to continue championing prayers for lasting peace across the state.
Yusuf expressed concern over recent banditry attacks in some parts of the state, describing the incidents as “strange” and stating that Kano required divine intervention to overcome the emerging the emerging security challenges.
Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, appealed to the residents to redouble their fervent prayers for sustainable peace and stability in the state.
The prayer session featured the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and special supplications led by prominent Islamic scholars.
