In a move aimed at reinforcing administrative efficiency and sharpening public communication, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a new round of appointments and promotions across strategic areas of government.
The decision, according to the state government, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance structures and improve service delivery to residents. The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Among those elevated is Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi, popularly known as Alhajiji, who has been appointed Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Executive Governor. Before his new role, Kankarofi served as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol I, where he was involved in coordinating high-level official engagements.
Also appointed is Aisha Tamburawa as Special Adviser to the Governor on Positive Propaganda — a role designed to enhance government communication, counter misinformation and project state policies and achievements.
Tamburawa previously served as a Supervisory Councillor in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, bringing grassroots administrative experience into the governor’s media and public engagement strategy. The state government noted that the appointments reflect Governor Yusuf’s commitment to placing experienced and loyal party members in positions that align with his administration’s reform agenda.
The appointees are expected to assume their duties immediately as the government intensifies efforts to address humanitarian needs, public perception and effective policy communication across the state.
