Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Tuesday inaugurated the reconstruction of the 3.6-kilometre Zungeru Road in the Sabon-Gari area of Fagge Local Government Area, as part of the state’s ongoing urban renewal programme.
Speaking at the ceremony, Yusuf said the reconstruction of the road reflected his administration’s commitment to providing critical infrastructure aimed at improving the living standard of residents.
“As Kano continues to grow into a mega city, it is imperative to provide high-quality roads and urban facilities that meet the demands of the population,” he said.
The Governor urged the contractor handling the project to ensure timely completion and adherence to specifications, while assuring that all contractors in the state would receive prompt payment upon completion of their jobs.
Yusuf commended the residents of the Sabon-Gari community for their continued support and cooperation.
The governor, however, called for sustained efforts toward the socio-economic development of the state.
