The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is inaccessible, insisting that the President remains open and available to Nigerians.
Wike stated this on Tuesday in Abuja while addressing journalists after a meeting with stakeholders on ongoing development projects in the FCT. According to him, insinuations that the President is “too distant from the people” are unfounded and politically motivated.
He noted that contrary to speculations, President Tinubu listens attentively to Nigerians across different walks of life and has always made himself available to engage with leaders, civil society groups, and ordinary citizens.
Those who say Mr. President is unapproachable are being unfair. I meet him regularly, and he is one of the most accessible leaders I have worked with. He listens, he asks questions, and he takes decisions that reflect the needs of the people,” Wike said.
The minister added that Tinubu’s policies and reforms, though tough, are designed to restore economic stability and reposition the country for sustainable growth. He urged Nigerians to be patient and support the administration as it works to deliver on its promises.
Wike also stressed that political opponents were deliberately painting a negative image of the President to discredit his achievements, but insisted that Nigerians would soon begin to feel the positive impact of ongoing reforms.
