Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has revealed that the Nigerian national women’s football team has not yet received the $100,000 reward promised by the Federal Government following their victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. Speaking to media personality Chude Jideonwo on August 14, 2025, Ajibade expressed frustration, stating, “We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid. All the promises, we have not received anything.” The pledge, announced by President Bola Tinubu during a Presidential Villa reception, included $100,000 and a three-bedroom flat for each player, alongside the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) honor.

Ajibade remains optimistic about eventual payment, but the issue has raised concerns about accountability, especially as the D’Tigress basketball team received similar rewards for their 2025 AfroBasket win. As of August 14, 2025, the Presidency has not commented on the delay.
