Nwabueze, a former President George W Bush Advisor on technology, noted that Nigeria’s MVNO market has been tightly regulated, with stringent licensing requirements limiting the number of players.

However, Vitel’s emergence as a fully licensed MVNO with its own number series demonstrates the country’s growing openness to competition and innovation.

This development is expected to boost the Nigerian telecommunications sector, providing consumers with more options and better services.

He said Vitel Wireless has successfully met all government regulatory requirements, paving the way for a smooth market entry, adding that the company is now fully prepared to launch and deliver innovative, affordable, and customer-focused services across Nigeria.

Assuring that Vitel will soon hit with quality service, he described the new wireless phone line as a landmark achievement not only for itself but also for the Nigerian telecommunications sector, noting that he and his team are excited to be at the forefront of delivering this new era of innovative telecom services to Nigerians.
