UEFA has strongly criticized FIFA for suspending the automatic one-match ban of player Folarin Balogun, calling the decision a “red line” crossed.
Balogun was initially set to miss the World Cup last-16 clash after receiving a red card, but FIFA suspended the ban for a probationary year, a decision reportedly influenced by a call from United States President Donald Trump.
UEFA expressed disbelief at the decision, warning that it could damage trust in football and undermine the integrity of the game’s rules.
