In the early hours of Sunday, March 8, 2026, an explosion occurred at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway.
The blast took place around 1:00 AM local time. The explosion specifically hit the entrance to the embassy’s consular section in the Huseby district.
Only minor material damage has been reported, and the building remains standing. Witnesses described a “thick fog” of smoke covering the street immediately after the blast.
Fortunately, Norwegian police and embassy officials have confirmed there were no casualties or injuries.
Oslo police have cordoned off the area and deployed a bomb squad, dogs, and drones to secure the site. As of a few hours ago, authorities stated the area is now considered safe for the public.
