Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has underscored the critical importance of youth inclusion in governance and national progress, describing young Nigerians as active partners in shaping both national and community development.
The minister made the remarks during an interactive evening with Nigerian youths hosted by Dayo Israel at the Youth House. The engagement brought together young leaders and stakeholders for discussions centered on leadership, diplomacy, and the role of youths in advancing Nigeria’s global and domestic priorities.
Ambassador Tuggar emphasized that Nigeria’s development trajectory depends significantly on harnessing the ideas, innovation, and participation of its youthful population. According to him, meaningful inclusion of young people in policy formulation and implementation would strengthen governance and foster sustainable growth.
He noted that youths are not merely beneficiaries of government policies but essential contributors whose perspectives and creativity are vital to addressing contemporary challenges.
The interactive session provided participants with the opportunity to share insights and ask questions on foreign policy, international relations, and pathways for youth engagement in public service and nation-building.
Tuggar reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to creating platforms that amplify youth voices, stressing that empowering young Nigerians remains central to achieving long-term national development goals.
