The Executive Chairman of Zaki Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Mallam Masud Aliyu Umar, has died following a fatal auto crash on Sunday night, November 1, 2026.

The incident occurred at approximately 100 kilometres from the Bauchi metropolis along the Konkiyal axis in Darazo Local Government Area. Umar was returning to Zaki after attending an Allied Peoples Movement (APM) stakeholders’ meeting in Bauchi, the state capital, when his private vehicle crashed.
