The Katsina State Government declared today, Monday, July 14, 2025, a public holiday in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in London. The decision was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, to allow residents to join in mourning and offer prayers for the late leader’s soul.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda described Buhari as a great leader, patriot, and democrat whose legacy would endure in Nigerian history. He encouraged citizens to reflect on the values Buhari represented and participate in any memorial activities planned across the state.
The announcement follows the suspension of legislative activities by the National Assembly and a wave of tributes nationwide, marking a solemn day of national remembrance.
