President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that a nation’s growth hinges on deliberate investment in its youth, insisting that no Nigerian should be denied quality education because of financial constraints.
Speaking through the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id-Ahmad, at the 34th Convocation and 43rd Founders Day of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, on Sunday, Tinubu highlighted the pivotal role of the university in shaping Nigeria’s scientific and technological landscape over the past four decades.
“Over the last 43 years, FUT Minna has distinguished itself as a centre of excellence in science, engineering innovation, and applied research,” he said. The President noted that the current administration has worked to expand educational access through strategic infrastructure projects and the implementation of a student loan scheme aimed at easing financial barriers for deserving students.
The convocation ceremony brought together students, academics, and dignitaries who celebrated the university’s achievements while underscoring the importance of equipping young Nigerians with the skills and resources to drive national development.
Tinubu’s message reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that talent, rather than financial capacity, determines access to education—a vision seen as critical to building a knowledge-driven economy.
