President Bola Tinubu has approved a major leadership overhaul at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), appointing veteran media executive Rotimi Richard Pedro as the new Director-General, on August 14, 2025.
Pedro, a Lagos-born media entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience in broadcasting, sports rights, and marketing across Africa, the UK, and the Middle East, replaces the previous management team.
Other key appointments include Karimah Bello as Executive Director of Marketing, Stella Din as Executive Director of News, and Sophia Essahmed as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited, signaling a push to modernize the state broadcaster.
The restructuring aims to reposition NTA in a competitive media landscape, with Pedro’s expertise expected to boost sponsorship revenues and content quality.
