TINUBU REAFFIRMS RESOLVE TO CRUSH TERRORISM, BANDITRY AS HE MEETS NIGER DELTA LEADERS

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating banditry and terrorism, assuring Nigerians that security agencies are working relentlessly to restore peace and stability across the country.

The President gave the assurance on Wednesday night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, while receiving leaders of the Ogbia community from Bayelsa State. He said the fight against violent criminal groups remains a top priority of his government, stressing that sustained efforts are being made to safeguard lives and property nationwide.

According to Tinubu, security forces are “fighting very hard” to contain threats posed by bandits and terrorists, adding that his administration will continue to provide the necessary support and resources to enable them succeed in their operations.

The President also pledged that alongside security measures, his government would expand development interventions, particularly in the Niger Delta, to address underlying socio-economic challenges that fuel unrest and criminality.
He noted that meaningful development, infrastructure growth and inclusive governance are essential to achieving lasting peace in the region and the country at large.

Tinubu commended the Ogbia community leaders for their engagement and support, urging them to continue to work with government and security agencies in promoting peace and unity.

The visiting delegation expressed appreciation to the President for his assurances and reiterated their support for the administration’s efforts to improve security and development across Nigeria.
