President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to carry out a full investigation into the killing of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in Chiranci community, Kano State, describing the incident as a shocking act of brutality.
The President expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, noting that the loss of innocent lives had plunged the nation into mourning.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu strongly condemned the attack, calling it barbaric and unacceptable in any society.
“The President condemned the action as barbaric and condoled with the bereaved family over the tragedy,” the statement said.
Beyond expressing sympathy, the President ordered a comprehensive investigation to uncover all those involved in the crime, stressing that justice must be served without delay.
He also praised the Nigeria Police Force for the prompt arrest of the principal suspects, describing their swift response as crucial in restoring public confidence.
Tinubu further directed all relevant security agencies to ensure diligent prosecution of the suspects, warning that crimes of such nature must not go unpunished.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and maintaining law and order, assuring Nigerians that decisive steps would continue to be taken to prevent similar incidents across the country.
The killings have continued to draw widespread condemnation, with many calling for strengthened community security and justice for the victims.
