President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate, coordinated manhunt for the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, directing the nation’s top security chiefs to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.

In a directive issued today, the President instructed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services to intensify operations to track down the attackers and urgently rescue all abducted victims, including women and children.

The attack, which claimed several lives and led to multiple abductions, was carried out by terrorists suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara States in the aftermath of a United States air strike on Christmas Eve.

President Tinubu condemned the assault in unequivocal terms, describing it as a brutal affront to national security and human dignity.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people,” the President said. “They must face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they will be hunted down. Those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form will also be caught and brought to justice.”

President Tinubu conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and extended sympathy to the Government and people of Niger State. He assured residents that security agencies have been mandated to ramp up patrols and intelligence-led operations around vulnerable communities, particularly those bordering forested areas long used as criminal hideouts.

Calling for national unity, the President urged Nigerians to remain calm and resolute, warning against divisive rhetoric that could undermine cohesion during a period of grief and heightened security concerns.

“These times demand our humanity,” he said. “We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary, and reclaim the peace and security of our communities.”

The directive underscores the administration’s resolve to dismantle terror networks, secure affected communities, and restore confidence in public safety across the country.
