President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness at the death of 40 members of Tijaniyya Movement in Nigeria, who died in an auto crash on Sunday, September 15.
Tinubu said the auto crash that claimed the lives of 40 citizens at a go was one too many and directed the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) to improve highway monitoring in order to reduce the number of road accidents nationwide. Â
In a statement, Special Adviser to the President On Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanugat said the President condoled with members and leaders of the Tijaniyya Movement in Nigeria over the incident in which scores of others were injured.
The victims were on their way from Kwandari in Plateau State to a Maulud Nabiy celebratory event in Saminaka, Kaduna State when their bus collided with a truck at Lere town of Kaduna State.Â
President Tinubu condoled with the families of victims of the incident and with the governments of Kaduna and Plateau states and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
