Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has declared that President Bola Tinubu has delivered more development projects to Northern Nigeria than any previous Nigerian leader, citing investments in infrastructure, agriculture and healthcare as clear evidence of the administration’s commitment to the region.
The governor also dismissed suggestions that the North would abandon Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the President would secure even more votes across the region than he obtained during the 2023 general election.
Sani made the remarks during an interview on ARISE Television on Tuesday, where he defended the Federal Government’s performance and rejected criticisms that the North had been neglected under the current administration.
Speaking confidently about Tinubu’s achievements, the governor said his assessment was based on verifiable data rather than political sentiment.
“Let me be very frank with you. And when I talk, I talk on the basis of data and statistics. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, I can tell you, he has done more than any leader for Northern Nigeria,” Sani stated.
He further argued that no previous administration had undertaken as many developmental interventions in the northern part of the country within a similar period.
“I can tell you categorically, no president has done to the North in terms of development as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done in the last three years. And I’m speaking on the basis of data and statistics,” he added.
The Kaduna governor pointed to ongoing road construction, agricultural support programmes, healthcare initiatives and other federal projects spread across Northern states as evidence that the region has remained a major beneficiary of Tinubu’s policies.
According to him, the administration has continued to invest in critical infrastructure designed to improve transportation, boost economic activities and create employment opportunities for millions of residents across the North.
Sani also highlighted the government’s agricultural interventions, saying they are helping to strengthen food production, improve farmers’ productivity and support the country’s broader food security agenda.
He further praised federal investments in healthcare, arguing that improved medical facilities and health programmes are contributing to better healthcare delivery across Northern communities.
The governor maintained that while opposition figures have attempted to portray the administration as unpopular in the region, the reality on the ground tells a different story.
He insisted that many residents of Northern Nigeria have witnessed tangible improvements under Tinubu’s administration and would express their appreciation through the ballot in the next presidential election.
Responding to claims that the President could face resistance in the North during the 2027 polls, Sani dismissed such predictions as unfounded.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu’s performance would strengthen his political support base across the region, saying the President would attract more votes than he did in 2023.
According to the governor, the growing number of infrastructure projects and economic interventions undertaken by the Federal Government have continued to earn public support despite prevailing economic challenges facing the country.
Sani stressed that governance should be assessed based on measurable achievements rather than political narratives, reiterating that his position was informed by available evidence and statistics.
