President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, assuring citizens that despite current hardships, the nation is on course to emerge stronger and more prosperous. He said with God’s guidance and the collective resolve of Nigerians, a new era of renewal is within reach.

Delivering his remarks during Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations in Abuja, Tinubu acknowledged the struggles citizens are facing as a result of ongoing reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

I know these times are difficult for many families, but we must endure. With God’s help and our determination as a people, we will build a new, stronger Nigeria that provides dignity, opportunity, and hope for all,” the president said.

Tinubu noted that the decisions taken so far were tough but necessary to save the nation from financial collapse. He emphasized that funds previously wasted on unsustainable policies were being redirected to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure.

He urged Nigerians to stay united, setting aside ethnic and religious differences in pursuit of a common goal of national renewal. According to him, progress would not come overnight, but the foundation being laid today would guarantee prosperity for future generations.

We are a people of resilience and faith. No adversity can overcome the Nigerian spirit. Together, in faith and in unity, we will triumph,” he added.

While critics have continued to pressure the government over the rising cost of living, Tinubu assured citizens that targeted interventions, including wage awards, social welfare programs, and investments in agriculture and energy, are being rolled out to cushion the impact of reforms.

The president concluded his message with a call for patience and optimism, insisting that Nigeria’s best days are still ahead.
