President Bola Tinubu has conferred the newly sworn-in Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun and President of the Senate, Obong Godswill Akpabio with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger GCON).
Similarly, the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas have been conferred with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), while the Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, has been awarded Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).
Making the announcement in a nationwide broadcast marking Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary earlier this morning, President Tinubu said that as is the tradition, the government will soon announce all the beneficiaries of the national honors for 2024.
