For years, the South-South and Southeast have been scarred by relentless terrorist attacks from Fulani herdsmen, leaving a trail of DEVASTATION.. hundreds, if not thousands, gruesomely hacked to death by marauders from the Sahel. These are not fabricated tales but chilling realities, often captured in blood-soaked videos proudly posted on social media by these remorseless killers. They rape, murder, and raze farmlands, yet the Northern political elite remain deafeningly silent, no condemnation, no promises to pursue justice, just an eerie stillness as the South bleeds.
The evidence is undeniable: videos circulate of these Fulani bandits tearing through cassava fields, annihilating livelihoods to feed their cattle, with not a whisper of empathy from Northern governors. Their inaction speaks volumes, a tacit endorsement of the chaos.
Contrast this with the nauseating spectacle of Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, scurrying to Kano to offer condolences to the families of Fulani victims killed in Uromi, Edo State. With a servile bow, he announced the arrest of 14 suspects, now en route to Abuja for interrogation—a swift response starkly absent when Southern lives are snuffed out.
What drives this disparity?
The spinelessness of Southern politicians, whose cowardice emboldens these sociopaths to kill with impunity, convinced that no repercussions will follow. This is not mere negligence; it is a betrayal of their people, a curse of selfish leadership that dooms the region to endless massacres. Until the South finds its spine and the North its conscience, the Sahel-spawned terror will thrive, unchecked and unpunished. How long will this dance of death continue before the scales of justice tip?
