The already suspended Rev. Fr. Alia publicly declared on wednesday 19/11/2025 that there is no Christian genocide in Benue state by fulani jihadist militia herdsmen is not only a sacrilege but a desecration of the temple of God, for which he was ordained to preserve.
Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia may have sinned against the 8th Commandment of God – ‘Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour.’
It is terribly worse that Rev. Fr. Alia had betrayed the people he once administered to as victims of the Islamist genocidal massacre for years in Benue state.
Rev. Fr. Alia dragged the name of the priesthood to the mud.
He must chose. He cannot stand at the altar of Christ and the dirty altar of politics at the same time.
For these and many more stories, facts, data and figures on the Christian clergy penchant for abandoning the pulpit for the podium at a global perspective, please watch out tomorrow Sunday 23/11/2025 on this platform.
It promises to be blunt.
