Nigeria’s Super Falcons landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday, July 28, 2025, arriving around 2:25 pm following their dramatic 3‑2 victory over Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final—securing their record 10ᵗʰ continental title.

Officials, players, and the trophy were welcomed by jubilant crowds and dignitaries upon arrival.

The Super Falcons will embark on a celebratory trophy parade across major parts of Abuja, including:

Airport Road

Berger Junction

Maitama

Wuse market

The parade will culminate at the Presidential Villa, where they will be officially received by President Bola Tinubu.

Later, a live concert at Eagle Square kicks off at around 7 pm, featuring several Nigerian entertainers and fanfare organized by the National Sports Commission.

In a statement signed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, the Federal Government praised the Super Falcons as shining symbols of resilience, excellence, and the indomitable Nigerian spirit, stating they have “inscribed Nigeria’s name in gold” on the continental stage.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to enhanced investment in sports development, pledging better support and infrastructure for Nigerian athletes moving forward.
