Vice President Kashim Shettima has praised Governor Uba Sani for what he described as transformative leadership in Kaduna State, claiming the governor’s efforts are gradually turning the state into a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking over the weekend at the commissioning of the Tudun Biri Resettlement Scheme, Shettima highlighted a recent surge of defections from opposition parties to the APC as evidence of the governor’s inclusive and strategic approach to politics.

“Governor Uba Sani, we are most grateful. You are gradually turning Kaduna into a one-party state, with House of Representatives members representing Soba, Makarfi and Kudan on their way to the APC,” Shettima said, praising the governor’s deliberate efforts to expand the party’s political base.

The Vice President also reflected on the outcome of the 2023 general elections, noting that the APC had previously faced significant setbacks in Kaduna. According to him, the recent wave of political realignments signals a reversal of fortunes for the party and underscores Uba Sani’s role in strengthening its influence across the state.

Political analysts say the shift could reshape Kaduna’s political landscape ahead of upcoming elections, positioning the APC as a dominant force.

However, some observers caution that the trend may also intensify competition among parties and could have broader implications for state-level governance.

As the state witnesses these realignments, the administration credits strategic leadership, grassroots engagement, and inclusive governance as key factors behind the APC’s growing appeal.
