The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has commended the Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, for his visionary leadership in promoting innovation, enterprise, and youth empowerment across the state.

Shettima gave the commendation during a visit to Katsina, where he attended the unveiling of several state-led initiatives aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and technological advancement among young people.

The Vice President described Governor Radda as a forward-thinking leader whose policies align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in driving inclusive growth and reducing unemployment through innovation and skills development.

Governor Radda has demonstrated uncommon foresight and commitment to building a future where young people are not just job seekers but job creators,” Shettima said. “What we are witnessing in Katsina today is a model of how leadership at the subnational level can transform local economies through enterprise-driven governance.”

He applauded the state government’s efforts in establishing innovation hubs, entrepreneurship centres, and youth empowerment programmes that have provided training, funding, and mentorship to thousands of Katsina youths.

According to the Vice President, such initiatives are crucial for achieving sustainable development and addressing the economic challenges facing Nigeria.

The Federal Government will continue to support states like Katsina that are taking bold steps to harness the potential of their youth population,” Shettima assured.

Governor Radda, in his remarks, thanked the Vice President for his encouragement and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding opportunities for young people through education, skills acquisition, and small business support.

He noted that empowering youths remains at the heart of his administration’s development agenda, adding that innovation and enterprise are key tools for tackling poverty and insecurity in the state.

The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, business leaders, and youth representatives, who lauded the collaboration between the federal and state governments in fostering development and empowerment initiatives in Northern Nigeria.
