A joint security operation coordinated by the Kaduna State Government, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has successfully rescued worshippers abducted during a church service in Kurmin Wali village, Kajuru Local Government Area, on January 18.
Governor Uba Sani confirmed on Wednesday that 82 of the kidnapped worshippers have safely returned from captivity. However, a credible security source revealed that the actual number of people freed in the operation exceeds 100, including children and infants.
According to the source, the victims were released through a carefully planned operation that combined the efforts of DSS and ONSA operatives with security resources mobilized by the Kaduna State Government. The coordinated action ensured the safe recovery of the abducted worshippers without reported casualties.
Governor Sani described the rescue as a testament to the state government’s commitment to protecting citizens and tackling insecurity in Kaduna.
