Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has firmly debunked reports suggesting any friction between himself and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing such claims as completely unfounded. Speaking to journalists on Sunday after paying a courtesy visit to the President in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu appeared relaxed and smiling, emphasizing the strength of their relationship.
“Did you see any discord? Can’t you see even you are smiling? I am smiling” Sanwo-Olu asked rhetorically, adding, “There are people who believe they are more Catholic than the Pope… they cry more than the bereaved.” He further described the relationship between him and Tinubu as that of a father and son, asserting, “My father is my leader.” The governor expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the President, saying it was simply to “come in and say hello to him,” reaffirming that there is no tension or disagreement between them.
