Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, Chairman of the Rivers Elders Council, has praised the enduring impact of Rivers State’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 general elections, describing it as yielding positive outcomes for the state and the nation.
Speaking on Tuesday in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, during the ongoing “thank you” visits by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to local government areas, Alabraba also expressed concern over the current political climate in the state.
The elder statesman highlighted the sacrifices made by Wike for Rivers State, stressing that such dedication warrants continued support to enable the minister to deliver further dividends of democracy to the people.
“Houses, roads, and other developments being enjoyed in Rivers State today are partly due to the sacrifices and vision of leaders like Nyesom Wike,” Alabraba said.
He further described Wike as an icon in contemporary Nigerian politics, praising his pragmatic approach and astute leadership style.
According to him, Wike’s political acumen and commitment to service make him a pivotal figure capable of driving meaningful progress in Rivers State and beyond.
Alabraba’s remarks come amid the FCT Minister’s tour of local government areas, which is aimed at expressing gratitude to residents and stakeholders for their support and partnership in promoting development initiatives across the state.
