Despite the appeal by President Bola Tinubu in his nationwide broadcast, some protesters have remained adamant in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
A handful of protesters comprising children stormed the streets of Port Harcourt Town especially the popular Aggrey Road and Station Road insisting that their demands must be met by the President.
Some were dressed in different funny costumes, others carried tree branches as they moved on the major roads chanting anti-government songs.
They, however, overstepped their bounds when they started issuing threats to residents, shop owners and motorists.
Perhaps angered by their number, the protesters said from Tuesday, other residents must join them in the protest or remain in their homes.
They were also unhappy that many others chose to go about their normal activities with various offices and shops opened for business.
They said: “Tomorrow, park your vehicles and close your shop, and come and join us. Tomorrow there will be no shops. You will see what will happen tomorrow.
Some of the protesters were also calling for the exit of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio among other federal government officials.
Others called for an end to Tantita, a surveillance company protecting oil and gas facilities in the region.
The angry youths and children also sang the old National Anthem.
When the protesters got to an NNPC filling station, many motorists, who queued to buy fuel, joined the protesters in solidarity.
Some policemen were seen amid the protesters escorting them and monitoring their activities.
Other groups were also said to be carrying out similar protests at the Eastern Bypass and the Aba Road.
