The parade ground of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Federal Capital Territory Command was filled with pride and renewed purpose on Tuesday as 402 officers stepped into new ranks, carrying with them higher expectations and deeper responsibility.
At the decoration ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Abuja, the FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, reminded the newly promoted officers that advancement in rank was not merely a reward, but a summons to greater national service.
Addressing officers, senior officials and invited guests, Odumosu described the occasion as a defining moment in the professional journey of the beneficiaries — one earned through years of discipline, sacrifice and commitment.
“Today is not just a celebration of new ranks; it is a celebration of dedication, discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment to national service,” he said.
The commandant urged the officers to allow their promotions reflect in their conduct, leadership and efficiency, stressing that the nation expects improved service delivery from those entrusted with higher authority.
According to him, the evolving security challenges in the Federal Capital Territory demand officers who are not only courageous but also professional, accountable and people-oriented.
He cautioned against complacency, noting that promotion brings increased public scrutiny and responsibility, adding that integrity must remain the hallmark of the Corps.
