A pro-Tinubu support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Renewed Hope Advocates of Nigeria (RHAN), has cautioned the party’s National Chairman, Professor Yilwatda Nentawe, against allowing personal differences with Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election prospects.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, the group expressed concern over what it described as “the growing political tension and divisive rhetoric” within the party’s Plateau chapter, allegedly fueled by the chairman’s long-standing rivalry with Governor Mutfwang.

According to RHAN, such internal discord, if left unchecked, could weaken the APC’s cohesion and alienate critical stakeholders needed to ensure the President’s victory in the next general election.

We urge Professor Nentawe to rise above personal grievances and put the interest of the party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda first,” the statement read. “The people of Plateau State are watching, and they will not support a divided APC that prioritises internal battles over national progress.”

The group noted that while it recognised Nentawe’s right to political opinions, his position as national chairman demanded neutrality, maturity, and a commitment to reconciliation among party members across all states.

RHAN further advised the APC leadership to focus on strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, promoting unity among its ranks, and supporting ongoing reforms by the Tinubu administration aimed at reviving the economy and improving national security.

The President needs every hand on deck as 2027 approaches. Any action that creates disunity within the party, especially in politically strategic states like Plateau, will only hand the opposition an advantage,” the statement added.

The group reaffirmed its loyalty to President Tinubu and pledged continued support for his administration’s policies, urging party leaders at all levels to emulate the President’s inclusive leadership style and work collectively toward ensuring the APC’s electoral dominance in 2027.
