A private jet operated by Flybird crash-landed on Sunday morning at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), causing panic among airport users but leaving all passengers and crew unharmed.

The aircraft, which reportedly departed Abuja, was carrying 11 occupants, including three crew members, when the incident occurred at about 9.30am.

Eyewitnesses said the jet encountered difficulties during landing before eventually crash-landing on the runway.

Emergency procedures were immediately activated, allowing all passengers and crew to be safely evacuated from the aircraft.

“All the passengers were evacuated immediately. There were no casualties,” an eyewitness at the airport said.

Airport emergency and safety personnel were swiftly deployed to the scene to manage the situation and secure the runway.

Flight operations at the airport were temporarily disrupted to enable safety checks and clearance procedures, before normal activities gradually resumed.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the incident.
