President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Friday, November 6, 2026, for a high-profile working visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers States to commission major infrastructure projects and lead strategic political engagements.
According to an official statement issued on Thursday, November 5, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s itinerary underscores the federal administration’s commitment to subnational infrastructure development and political unity.
President Tinubu will take off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Friday morning to begin the two-state tour. His first port of call will be Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, where Governor Pastor Umo Eno has declared Friday a state-wide work-free day to enable residents to warmly welcome the visiting leader.
While in Akwa Ibom, President Tinubu is scheduled to commission a slate of flagship development projects. At the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, the President will officially inaugurate the state’s newly built International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital, and the Ibom Aviation Village.
He will also unveil several critical road and governance networks across the capital metropolis and surrounding local government areas, including the Airport-Okopedi Road linking Nsit Atai and Okobo LGAs, Ring Road 3 connecting Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road, the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre, and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The Akwa Ibom leg will conclude with a town hall meeting and consultative session with traditional rulers, political leaders, and party members.
Following his engagements in Uyo, the President will proceed to Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In Port Harcourt, President Tinubu will meet with regional political stakeholders and participate in an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally focused on party mobilization and regional stability.
Highlighting the scope of the trip, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga noted that the state visit offers a vital platform for cross-level collaboration.
“The visits will give President Tinubu opportunities to engage with political stakeholders, party members, and supporters while emphasising unity, political stability, and a shared commitment to national progress,” Onanuga stated.
President Tinubu is expected to return to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, at the conclusion of his engagements in Rivers State.
