President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated with Abagun Kole Omololu, a prominent chieftain of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. In a statement released yesterday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Omololu as “a man of integrity, loyalty, and enduring commitment to nation-building.”
Tinubu highlighted that Omololu’s life and public engagements have consistently reflected devotion to the preservation of Yoruba heritage, democratic principles, and good governance. “He has remained at the forefront of the struggle for democracy in Nigeria for decades, while also promoting unity and solidarity in Yorubaland,” the statement read. The President recalled Omololu’s role in NADECO Abroad, which championed the sanctity of the June 12 election and campaigned against military rule in Nigeria on the international stage.
He further noted that the Afenifere leader continues to be a respected member of Idile Odua. President Tinubu wished Omololu continued good health and success, commending his lifelong dedication to democracy and the Yoruba community.
