MlDuring the meeting, President Trump dimmed the lights and played a video depicting opposition leader Julius Malema chanting “kill the Boer, kill the farmer,” a slogan historically associated with anti-white sentiment. While President Trump has offered asylum to white Afrikaners, citing persecution, South African officials maintain that such narratives are misleading and not reflective of the country’s realities.
