Politician for God… Senator Jarigbe donates motorbikes to Catholic Catechists

Sen Jarigbe Agom, the lawmaker representing Cross River North in the National Assembly has donated 54 motorbikes to 54 Catholic Catechists in his senatorial district.
The 54 beneficiaries are also Catechists  in the Catholic Diocese of Ogoja, the Cross River Northern Senatorial District.

The donation, which took place in Ogoja, is part of steps by the lawmaker to empower religious leaders in the area.

Presenting the items on behalf of the lawmaker, the Constituency Officer, Egar Ngbantul said the lawmaker has also provided each “Catechist with N10,000 to help to cover fuel costs as they travel to their various stations and parishes on their newly distributed motorbikes.”

“This thoughtful gesture will undoubtedly facilitate their important work of spreading the Gospel and serving their communities,” he said, emphasizing that the gesture was aimed at enhancing their mobility and effectiveness in spreading the Gospel and serving their communities.

Responding, the Catholic Bishop of Ogoja Diocese, Most Revd. Dr. Donatus Edet Akpan, who was represented by the Diocesan Catechists Chaplain ~ Very Revd. Fr. Benedict Mose, expressed gratitude to Senator Jarigbe for the gesture.

“Catechists play a vital role in spreading the Word of God and will benefit greatly from this mobility,” Bishop Akpan said, enthusing that “the motorbikes will allow  them to carry out their catechetical work more effectively.”
