The Nigeria Police Force in Sokoto State has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment as police constables will begin on March 9, 2026.
The Sokoto State Police Command said the screening exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026, and will take place at the Command Headquarters located on Gwandu Road. The exercise is scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m. daily throughout the period.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Ahmad Rufa’i.
Rufa’i explained that the screening exercise forms part of the recruitment process for new police constables and urged all applicants who successfully completed the online registration to verify their status ahead of the physical screening.
He advised candidates to log in to the official recruitment portal to confirm whether they have been shortlisted and to print out the necessary documents required for participation in the exercise.
According to the statement, only applicants whose names appear on the portal and who possess the required documentation will be allowed to take part in the screening process.
“Candidates are required to report strictly on the date indicated on their invitation slip and must come with all required documents neatly arranged in two white flat files,” the statement read.
The command further emphasised the importance of punctuality and compliance with all instructions provided on the invitation slip, noting that failure to appear on the scheduled date may lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.
Applicants were also advised to ensure that the documents they present during the screening are genuine and complete, as the exercise will involve thorough verification of credentials and personal details.
The police authorities reiterated that the recruitment process is free and transparent, warning applicants against paying money to individuals or groups claiming to offer assistance or influence in the selection process.
The command encouraged candidates to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to the recruitment exercise to the appropriate authorities.
The recruitment of police constables is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen manpower capacity and improve security operations across the country.
Authorities in the command said adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and orderly screening process throughout the duration of the exercise.
