The Nigeria Police Force has extended the grace period for enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit regulation to August 12, 2025, following public outcry over the reactivation of the permit application process In a statement issued Saturday, Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the extension was approved by Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to allow for ongoing service reviews and improvements.

“This extension comes on the heels of several concerns and feedback expressed by members of the public,” the statement read. It added that the Force remains committed to “transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing” and that updates to the application process are underway to make it “user-friendly, secure, and accessible to all.”

The NPF emphasized that all applications should be made only through the official portal possap.gov.ng and urged the public to report any unauthorized fees or extortion during application or biometric capturing via the dedicated hotline 09169967000. The Force also apologized for earlier typographical errors and assured Nigerians that efforts to streamline the process are ongoing.
