Plateau State, Nigeria, has been officially named the host of the 2025 Miss Tourism Africa and Mister Tourism Africa International pageants, with Jos designated as the host city for the fourth edition of this continental event, set for July 2025.
The announcement, made by the Miss Tourism Africa and Mister Tourism Africa International Organisation, highlights Jos’s scenic landscapes, cultural richness, and reputation as the “Home of Peace and Tourism”.
The event, fully endorsed by Governor Caleb Mutfwang through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, will feature 50 delegates, 30 women competing for Miss Tourism Africa and 20 men for Mister Tourism Africa International, showcasing Africa’s cultural diversity and tourism potential.
Ambassador Seth Santiago Roberts, founder of the pageant, emphasized Jos’s selection as intentional, stating, “Its incredible scenery, diverse cultures, and peaceful nature perfectly align with the soul of this project.”
The event aims to promote tourism, empower youth through talent and leadership, and foster trade via cultural exchange, with Plateau State planning infrastructure upgrades like roads and hotels to support the influx of visitors. Dr. Raymond Okonkwo, patron of Miss Tourism Africa, added, “Jos is not just a city; it is Africa’s Home of Peace and Tourism.” The initiative is expected to boost Plateau’s economy and global visibility, positioning it as a premier tourism destination.
