Phyna, the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 7 winner, has taken to social media to express reject after revealing how the money won from the show finished while supporting family members instead of investing it.
The reality star, during a recent livestream revealed that when she started rejecting financial requests from her family members, her problems began
According to Phyna, no one from her family encouraged her to invest; all they did was demand financial support.
“The mistake I made was using my Big Brother Naija prize money to support family members instead of investing it,” she said.
“I thought I was helping my family members and sorting out their debts. I was spending generously on them. None of the older family members called me to give me financial advice on how to invest or manage the money well.
“All of them were constantly demanding money from me for several stuff. I dug a lot of boreholes for family members.”
The reality star said she stopped assisting her family members and learned to say “no” to their demands after she noticed her money was running low.
She said they even turned against her when she couldn’t meet their request.
“But the moment I started saying ‘No’ that was the beginning of my problem with family members,” she said.
“They complain and even call me out in the media whenever I can’t meet their demands. But now that the money has finished, I’m the only one facing the reality alone.”
Phyna won the 2022 edition of the BBNaija reality TV show. She defeated her rivals to clinch the N100 million grand prize.
N50 million was the cash prize, while the other N50 million was an estimation of prizes from the sponsors.
