The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has urged the Federal Government to take urgent steps to revive the nation’s struggling economy, stamp out corruption, and create policies that empower citizens to live meaningful lives.
Speaking after a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Lagos, PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke, said Nigerians are enduring unprecedented hardship, with rising inflation, unemployment, and a weak currency eroding the standard of living.
The cries of the people are too loud to be ignored. Government must act decisively to fix this economy, end corruption in all its forms, and put in place genuine empowerment programmes that give hope to ordinary citizens,” Bishop Oke stated.
He described corruption as the “greatest hindrance” to Nigeria’s progress, stressing that unless leaders demonstrate integrity and accountability, efforts to stimulate growth will continue to be undermined.
The PFN also called on authorities to prioritize job creation, youth development, and social safety nets to reduce the burden on families. According to the group, empowering Nigerians through education, skills training, and access to credit would not only improve livelihoods but also reduce crime and insecurity.
On national unity, the fellowship urged political leaders to avoid divisive rhetoric and instead pursue policies that foster inclusiveness and trust among ethnic and religious groups.
The PFN further assured that the church would continue to pray for the nation while speaking truth to power in the interest of justice, equity, and prosperity.
