His Excellency Peter Obi has never shied away from asking the right questions, especially on issues that affect justice and fairness. He has repeatedly questioned the unlawful detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and has clearly expressed his understanding of the reasons behind his agitation, just like many other Nigerians who feel neglected and unheard.
In several interviews, Peter Obi has openly shared his blueprint on how to address the matter of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a peaceful, lawful, and diplomatic manner. He believes that dialogue, justice, and equity are the only sustainable ways to restore peace and unity in the country.
However, His Excellency will not be part of the protest scheduled for the 20th. Intelligence reports suggest that the protest is being monitored and may be used as a trap to arrest him under false allegations of treason. Obi has chosen to maintain his calm and strategic approach, focusing on lawful means of resolving national issues rather than walking into a political setup.
Peter Obi’s wisdom and restraint should not be mistaken for silence or fear. He remains deeply committed to justice for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and to the protection of human rights in Nigeria, but he will do so through due process and not through traps designed by his political opponents.
