Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has resumed public engagements after taking time off for medical rest.
Obi, who had been away from the public scene for several weeks, reappeared at a civic event in Lagos on Monday, where he assured supporters and well-wishers of his full recovery and readiness to continue his advocacy for good governance, accountability, and citizen-focused leadership.
The former Anambra State governor thanked Nigerians for their prayers and goodwill messages during his period of rest, saying their concern reflected the bond of trust he shared with the people.
“I am deeply grateful for the love and prayers I received while I was away. Health is important, but service remains my calling. I am back, reenergized, and more determined to keep engaging Nigerians on the need for a new direction for our country,” Obi said.
Since his return, Obi has scheduled a series of policy dialogues, town hall meetings, and youth engagement forums across major cities, underscoring his continued influence in the national political conversation.
Observers say Obi’s reappearance has reignited enthusiasm among his supporters, popularly known as Obidients, many of whom had expressed concern about his sudden absence from the public space.
