Panic broke out at an FCMB branch in Lagos after a suspected thief was discovered hiding in the ceiling of the bank, allegedly attempting to tamper with internal systems overnight. According to eyewitnesses, the man had entered the banking hall during normal business hours and quietly locked himself in the restroom. From there, he reportedly climbed onto the ceiling and remained hidden until after closing time.
By the next morning, bank staff became suspicious when they found a door mysteriously locked from the inside. Upon forcing it open, they were stunned to find the intruder, who appeared to have been meddling with some of the bank’s systems.
The suspect was seen pleading for forgiveness as he was being beaten in a viral video going online, with the suspect also claiming he acted alone. Though FCMB has not released an official statement, footage shows the man being handled roughly by security officials before being handed over to the police.
