The Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its readiness for the official rollout of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), in line with the Federal Government’s plan for a gradual transition from traditional pen-and-paper exams to fully digital testing.
According to a statement released on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the disclosure came during a courtesy visit by Mr. Waheed Amode, Zonal Coordinator and Deputy Registrar of WAEC, and his management team, to the office of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olusegun Olayiwola.
Olayiwola noted that Governor Seyi Makinde has directed that all cost implications for implementing the CBT mode would be carefully managed to ensure a smooth and accessible examination process for students across the state.
The government emphasized that necessary preparations—including infrastructure, logistics, and training—are in place to facilitate the transition, signaling Oyo State’s commitment to embracing modern educational technologies and enhancing the efficiency of national examinations.
