Ahead of the highly anticipated August 15 governorship election in Osun State, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents of his unwavering commitment to security, economic growth, and shared prosperity.
​Speaking during a high-profile stakeholder engagement meeting on Sunday in Osogbo, the state capital, Oyebamiji declared that his administration would prioritize creating an enabling environment where local businesses can thrive and citizens can pursue their livelihoods without fear.
​”Our vision for Osun State is one built on the bedrock of safety and economic stability,” Oyebamiji stated. “We will make Osun a haven for investors, revitalize our local economy, and ensure that every hardworking citizen has the opportunity to prosper. Security and economic growth walk hand in hand, and we are ready to deliver both.”
​The APC standard-bearer, who previously served as the state’s Commissioner for Finance and more recently as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), highlighted his deep background in financial management and public service as critical tools for transforming the state’s economic landscape.
​As part of his strategic plan to boost the local economy and support small businesses, Oyebamiji pointed to recent campaign commitments, including advanced negotiations with an international partner to establish a 3.5-megawatt power plant to stabilize electricity supply for local artisans and commercial hubs.
With less than a month to the August 15 polls, political activities have intensified across the state’s federal constituencies. Oyebamiji urged his supporters to remain peaceful and focused on issue-based campaigning, while reiterating his call to the electorate to protect the integrity of their votes.
​Reaffirming the party’s unity, prominent APC chieftains at the event dismissed opposition rumors of internal divisions, confirming that the national leadership, alongside former Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, remains fully committed to securing an APC victory at the polls.
