Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on residents to reject voter intimidation and turn out en masse to vote for the Accord Party in the upcoming August 15 governorship election.
​Speaking during a church service at the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) in Osogbo on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Governor Adeleke assured the electorate that comprehensive security measures have been put in place across all local government areas to guarantee a safe and peaceful voting process.
Adeleke condemned alleged intimidation tactics by opposition elements, describing them as desperate measures by political rivals facing imminent defeat.
The governor urged voters to exercise their civic rights without fear, emphasizing that a strong turnout is the most effective response to voter suppression tactics.
Reassuring residents, Adeleke stated that security agencies have been fully briefed to maintain law and order throughout the election period.
​”Do not succumb to threats or scaremongering. Our administration is committed to protecting every voter. Go out on August 15, cast your vote according to your conscience, and send a clear message that Osun voters cannot be intimidated.”
​In an official statement following the church service, the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, highlighted that the state government is working closely with law enforcement agencies to maintain security before, during, and after the polls.
​During the service, Resident Pastor Adekunle Oluseyi prayed for smooth, peaceful elections and continuous prosperity across Osun State as campaign activities reach their peak.
